Comme pour les pilotes d'avion, c'est bien les phases de décollage et d'atterrissage qui sont les plus périlleuses et stressantes! - La star du séminaire, ce n’est pas la facilitatrice, le facilitateur ou les intervenants brillants... malgré les apparences, c’est bien le groupe et lui seul. - Tout est préparé pour eux, depuis des heures et des jours. Les séquentiels, les processus, les habillages sonores, les matrices visuelles, les chaises, tout l’environnement jusqu’aux pauses café avec des petites collations entre les repas. Bref, tout ?a c’est pour qui? Le groupe!

2 Set Ground Rules

A masterful facilitator masters themselves first. I was observing a group training yesterday where the facilitator was mid live clinical hypnosis demonstration when fire alarm testing began. The facilitator didn’t flinch (neither did the client, so clearly that was working ??). He seamlessly integrated what was happening on the outside to support what he was doing with the client. It’s our job as facilitators to make the group feel safe, in control and in good hands. Which essentially means we need to be unflappable. Be flexible, don’t set the agenda too tightly, and do the work on yourself so that you’re not triggerable when unexpected things happen.
