The audit is done through a checklist which also included audit of information assets, thus resulting in a set of data that can be used to assess the library needs. This data can then be used to analyse what resources are needed to improve the library.

Decisions that are controversial or that change long-established practices are ones that definitely require candor. If you are involved in making such decisions, maintain open channels of communication as much as possible. Allow time for input and feedback, unless circumstances require an immediate decision for security. In those cases, clearly explain what happened and what you did.
