I agree but building flexible supply chains to respond quickly to changes in demand is possible with effective cross-functional collaboration and communication. Also, embracing a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.

In my experience being open to change and having an agile mindset to learn new things is the key to any leadership team! Then you have to build a team that you can also develop to not be resistant to change. New can sometimes be overwhelming but if presented and trained with our employees buy in it makes for such a successful process.

And most importantly, do simulations and tests to find out how robust your supply chain really is, learn from it and make the necessary adjustments and improvements.

Risk management should be part of the Org management rubric. All parts of the organizations should have policies that have details of how they are managing risk for multiple business scenarios. Preparation is the mother of success.

In my experience risk management is key to all processes. Understanding what could happen helps to prevent those things from happening or also gives us a roadmap to follow if they do happen.

Disruptions are becoming less predictable and more frequent. In my opinion, the best approach is to change the culture of the manufacturing environment. The culture should not be disrupted. Only a quick triage to see if fundamental changes are required. This means the core team is anticipatory and looking for the next challenge.

The simple goal is to have smooth, efficient and continuous non-stop production with zero defects. Always look at SWOT analysis, implementing Poka-Yoke and have enough spare parts to avoid prolonged downtime.
