Keeping pace with these advancements will be essential for staying relevant and impactful in the ever-evolving field of UX research.

To remain competitive, it is essential to constantly improve your skills. In addition to learning new research tools and methods, it is also important to work on developing soft skills such as communication and storytelling. An equally important aspect is the ability to effectively present your findings to stakeholders and work seamlessly with design teams. Consider taking courses or workshops in related fields such as data analytics or psychology to gain a deeper understanding of user behavior. By playing a proactive and valuable role in an ever-changing professional environment.

Continuous learning and improving your skills is key! Maybe even something deeply human.. Considering (supposedly) new methodologies, buzz words, trends, it is important to take a closer look. What is it all abount? What is the focus? Where does it come from? What commonalities and differences to "old-school" methods exist? Somtimes when looking closely it will reveal as old wine in new bottles (as the saying goes).. Studying well established methodologies that are the basis of empirical and scientific working is always a good idea - eventhough it might not be the latest trend.

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. While there are tons of courses you can and should take to learn new skills, don't be afraid to try and replicate stuff you could only dream of making. Find tutorials, experiment, ask the designer who made it. When you have a specific goal, it's amazing how quickly you pick up new skills along the way.

Discovering universal behaviours beyond culture, such as relying on cognitive biases, is fascinating.

As businesses go global, it's important for UX Researchers to understand cultural differences in user behavior. Study international markets and design practices to develop a global perspective. This helps create inclusive designs and makes you an expert in global user research, which is crucial as companies expand globally.

In order to specialise in “global user research” it is important to utilise the zoom in and zoom out method. Each country/ state even human has different values and needs, it’s important to zoom into the market you’re researching on and identify nuances and insights for them and zoom out to look at the global behaviours and find the right balance between the two to create solutions that are optimal.

Sin embargo, es importante recordar que una perspectiva global no siempre es universalmente aplicable. Suponer que lo que funciona en un lugar funcionará en todos los demás puede llevar a problemas. Software is running the world. As a UX research your are a tiny part of this. Your work can make the world better or worse. If you ever have ethical or moral questions about the project you are working on: bring it up in your company or team. You are probably not the only one who feels that way.

In UX research, there are many ethical problems to consider. Initially, get the participants’ informed consent by making sure that they appreciate the aim as well as risks involved in the study. You should also keep their privacy by collecting only required information while keeping it anonymous. Do not harm them or distress them either; ensure you debrief after doing research with them. Lastly, strive to make your methods accessible and don’t unfairly exclude any particular group without good cause in order to achieve equity within your studies too.

Additionally, staying curious and embracing change allows us to stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies. Remember, adaptability isn’t just about surviving change; it’s about thriving in an ever-evolving job market.

The intersection of various disciplines is where the true magic happens! A strong research background is required to gain in-depth knowledge of human behaviour and its relation to products. A combination of disciplines can provide an additional edge, leading to significant breakthroughs. A comprehensive understanding of concepts in psychology, technology, marketing, branding principles, and brand identity, coupled with genuine curiosity or passion for the arts, can facilitate a profound understanding of the complexity of an experience, its context, and the impact it can have. This powerful combination can result in the creation of exceptional experiences with long-lasting effects.

— Basic heuristics and the HCI have not ceased to be in trend for a very long time. Personally, I study new frameworks, methods or tools when there is a demand for it from the customer, in order to keep a fresh look and curiosity for the object of research.

With the rise of more automation and ai tools, different methodologies that could and “should” be applied, we as UX reserachers need to remeber the crucial part of out job which is the User! In my experience its easy to get lost in processeses, methodologies, latest tech and research that primiraly serves to satisfy the ego and coorporate checkmarks rather than Users/Stakeholders/Networks - PEOPLE. I believe that its crucial to not only stay up to date to the newest tech but to really see the humans for whom we are doing the research. For example that could mean going back to basics and talk to real people, inovate on the methodologies to fit each project and each audience rather than following strict guidlines or trends.

It's important for UX researchers to gain knowledge and experience in their field, but having the "Ability To Find Alternatives" is a key skill for their future success. Being able to provide better and more varied solutions for a single problem is crucial. If one approach doesn't work, we should have alternatives to test until we find the best possible solution. Keep learning and improving!

A small piece of wisdom left to me by my late UX/UI designer friend. — "Tomorrow" will never come, "Yesterday" will never repeat, There will always be only today and now. Stay happy with what you do, take care of your loved ones, love them as much as you can. Smile to the universe!
