Aristóteles respecto al cambio, alertaba que no era tan importante lo que cambia, sino la acción que le sigue. Y reflexionaba sobre la visión de túnel, donde la persona sin importar su nivel de experiencia, caería en el supuesto de que lo que conoce (experiencia) es o, lo único, o lo mejor, o lo probado, respecto a las decisiones que pudiera tomar para esas acciones. Algo muy similar sucede con la investigación y desarrollo cuando innovamos, somos propensas y propensos en algún momento a justificar por todos los medios nuestros propios sesgos por simple descarte de creer que lo que conocemos es lo que mejor nos ajusta. Romper el sesgo implica extraernos de la ecuación, y vivir la acción desde lo diferente y desconocido.

Crear oportunidades donde nunca han existido a nuestro alrededor, implicar hacerlo desde la mirada, perspectiva, problema, solución e impacto de las diversidades que nos rodean. Tomar decisiones desde una sola visión, hipótesis o necesidad, logrará parcialmente resolver parte del problema conocido. Pero no nos brindará nuevos y mejores enfoques, y mucho menos nos acercará a nuevas e innovadoras formas de crecer. No sólo es clave el contar con un equipo diverso en las áreas de ID, es lo mínimo que cualquier área organizacional competitiva y ágil debe tener. Perder la oportunidad de crecer, por la incapacidad de gestionar nuestra propia relación con lo diferente y desconocido, es una apuesta exitosa al fracaso.

Navegar a puerto seguro sin datos era un naufragio seguro, navegar a lo desconocido de la misma forma, solo representa la falta de claridad respecto a donde queremos, creemos o podemos llegar. Estamos en el mejor momento histórico hasta ahora, en el que organizaciones y personas, pueden acceder en tiempo real a la interpretación de la información que sirva de inteligencia para el logro de los objetivos. Por lo que el primer paso será no negociar con el uso de datos, el segundo deberá ser hacerlo bajo marcos normativos que limiten los sesgos y que incluyan la diversidad. Desconocer recursos que nos permitan administrar la información, no debe justificar la ingenuidad de creer que no existen, necesitamos aplicar la inteligencia a favor.
