The main differences i see are creators being paid less for the same output, this is why touring & merch are so important as an artist as its where a lot of income is generated. Streaming sites have decimated royalty revenue so you really have to carve a career out in a different way, niche markets carry more potential for creative freedom and being multi disciplined in the presentation of your art will also expand potential revenue streams.
