I 100% agree with this. Too often times we leave only the execution on minor projects to our creative interns instead of bringing them in on the creative process and the dreaming. It's once you grasp the heart of a project in which the creative juices flow into an effective project or result.

Internship is one opportunity where there are very little expectations from seniors/mentors. However one must see it differently, as a stepping stone to future opportunities. Try to deliver beyond the given assignment, in terms of output. Try to get a feedback and improve in the next one. Enthusiasm, eagerness to learn proactively can go a long way in nurturing relationships
