An example I have seen that occasionally team leads are encouraged to showcase their activity highlights along with lowlights in the planned meeting. This practice will enhance ownership of team leads and managers will be able to come across innovation and new initiatives for increasing operational efficiency. It will be a Two-way approach of the meeting. Further team leads should bring lowlights with expected solution of the problem, if any.

Operational efficiency significantly impacts the economic value in the oil and gas industry. It overrides other efficiencies of importance. To begin with for enhancing operational efficiency, the meeting type with periodicity and attendees needs to be identified. As our industry works in a 24x7 pattern, 3 types with the periodicity of (I) Daily, (II) Weekly and (III) Monthly. Well-defined agenda with allotted time needs to be adhered for the successful meeting. Further meeting feedback and Action Taken Report (ATR) based on the Minutes of Meeting (MoM) have to be taken in cognisance for the mid-course corrections in terms of (a) Agenda, (b) Participants, (c) Urgency and (d) Execution.
