Take time to reflect on your failures. In my opinion, failure can sometimes be more valuable than success. Why? Because while success often reinforces what we already know, failure teaches us new lesson, a great one. For instance, I once made an error in my calculations for a scissor lift structure. The structure nearly collapsed and went off the rails, though the structural members remained intact. This happened when we changed material without fully accounting for the differences in structural strength. I missed a critical calculation. Fortunately, no harm was done, but it was a significant lesson.

sometimes people spend years re analysis the design that has already failed, a collapse of a structure or a fragile defects or even slight cracks and inclination shouldn't always be the cause of a bad design, considering the documents, QA and site investigation is a must, a highly recommended skill to learn is the progressive collapse which can results in a slight defect in a structural element that will lead to the failure of the whole structure.
