Your research will be more likely successful, if before that, you define your goals, have at least approximate understanding and assumptions about your users, and choose right research method.

Staying organized yes, and most importantly, take notes both during your "hot" analysis phase (? à chaud ?, during or right after data collection) and "cold" phase (? à froid ?, a few days have passed). Hot and cold phases feel different, both are important. Hot phase analysis lets you get the work started so you're saving time later, and most importantly, you get better, closer to reality notes on emotions and reactions at the moment of data collection. Cold phase analysis gets you high level visions and themes. This is, conventionally, the "Analysis" phase that comes after the Test phase. Combining these together gets you a fuller picture. In fact, categorisation can shift between hot and cold phases. Keep a copy of both.

UX researcher should stay organised by doing Effective documentation which involves using standardized templates for data collection and maintaining systematic note-taking practices. For reporting, it's essential to develop a clear framework that includes structured sections like objectives, methodology, results, and recommendations. Visual aids such as charts and graphs should be used to present findings clearly, and executive summaries should be included to highlight key insights.

Maintaining organisation is essential for UX researchers. Establish a framework that enables you to move between analysis and research with ease. To manage your research questions, techniques, and conclusions, use digital technologies. For instance, usability testing, surveys, and user interviews can all be recorded using a spreadsheet. Sort and label your data to make it easier to find and review at a later time. Keeping your data organised as you gather it will speed up the analysis process and enable you to identify trends and insights more rapidly.
