Da niemand jedes Material kennen kann, ist eine Spezialisierung notwendig. Einige kennen sich mit Legierungen aus, andere mit bestimmten Kristallsorten und wiederum andere befassen sich nur mit magnetischen Materialien. Innerhalb dieser Spezialisierung sollte ein Materialwissenschaftler die wichtigsten physikalischen Parameter seiner Werkstoffe kennen. Dazu ist eine umfangreiche Literatur-Recherche unabdingbar. Mit der Zeit entwickelt sich dann ein Situationsbewusstsein. Zu einer neuen Problemstellung kann man dann relativ schnell einsch?tzen, welcher Werkstoff geeignet w?re und welcher nicht. Dieses Wissen entsteht aber nicht über Nacht, es braucht viel an Erfahrung und viele theoretische Grundlagen.

In my experience, during the synthesis and characterization of new nanomaterials, the most used, "cheap" and conventional technique was DLS (dynamic light scattering), which analyzes the Braunian movement within the strokes-einstein equation. This technique mainly defines the size and dispersivity of nanomaterials in solution.

Die berufliche Entwicklung h?ngt immer von den Grundlagen der Ausbildung ab. Je besser die Ausbildung und das Studium, desto mehr l?sst sich daraus im Berufsleben entwickeln. Wo viel ist, kann viel entstehen. Deshalb ist eine solide Ausbildung durch nichts zu ersetzen. Fehlende Grundlagen lassen sich im sp?teren Berufsleben nur mit gro?em Aufwand ausgleichen. So einfach wie im Studium wird es nie wieder.
