Aligning team goals for teams work best when individuals are aligned on individual goals first. I'm not just talking about career goals either. Whole, life goals. When individuals are clear on personal alignment, from the founder/CEO to the brand new intern, conscious companies can align all the people and pieces to achieve missions that'd otherwise be impossible to deliver--with relative ease and joy. It gets really fun. Individual goals are so important to sit within, with full perspective for whole-life scale. When we understand ourselves, what drives us, and how we (really) want to FEEL, we practice operating from a place of self-love in collaboration with others, while getting paid to contribute to a greater good, all in due time.

Throughout my career, there weren't (and still aren't) enough examples of women being celebrated for their phenomenal achievements AND for clearly being 'not just' their jobs. When I got pregnant for the first time, I was afraid my career was over. I spiraled in the conditioned fear that women couldn't 'really' do both, and that I was giving up everything I'd ever worked for so far, and everything I still wanted to achieve in this lifetime. Luckily, I had one female leader who modeled her rules for motherhood within the workplace. Answering her kids' calls at any time, she set a gentle signal of what mattered most to her--in our meetings and in her relationships with her kids. Actions said it all. I get to be that woman. You can too.
