In my opinion, clarity on the following would result in strong collaboration 1. Purpose of collaboration so that everyone is aware of the expected outcome. This removes any confusion and/ or ambiguity among the collaborators. 2. The BIG PICTURE - This helps convey where the collaboration effort will make an impact 3. Common goal - When people come together to collaborate, they all need to align to a common mission. This helps remove the competition equation and builds the required camaraderie to work together. 3. Role of each collaborator - After the common goal is established, each individuals needs to know what they need to achieve to make collaboration a success. This is where the strengths of each collaborator is made use of.
