La tecnología es la principal aliada de los equipos de I+D+i que trabajan de forma deslocalizada. Como resumen, se pueden utilizar las siguientes aplicaciones: (1). Herramientas de comunicación: Para videoconferencias, Zoom y Google Meet, o bien Teams de Microsoft. Para agendar reuniones o entrevistas, Calendly resulta muy útil. (2). Herramientas para compartir documentos: Google Drive o One Drive de MS. (3). Herramientas para tranferir fotografías de experimentos: WeTransfer, DropBox. (4). Herramientas para gestionar proyectos de investigación: Trello o Slack. Además, es conveniente disponer de certificados digitales para la firma eletrónica de documentos. Por último, habrá que tener muy presentes las exigencias de ciberseguridad.
