Personal brand is your professional identity. Matter of fact is how you what other to know you is important. If you can understand what you want you can set your goals more precisely than ever.

The first step in building a personal brand is to clearly define your goals. What do you want to achieve with your brand? Are you looking to become a thought leader, advance your career, or start your own business? I want you to know that understanding your objectives will guide your branding strategy. Your goals should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART). For instance, if your goal is to become a thought leader in digital marketing, you might set a target to publish one insightful article per week and speak at two industry conferences within the next year. Please make sure that your goals align with your values and passions. This alignment will make your brand authentic and sustainable.

When I founded the startup accelerator in 2017, defining clear, measurable goals was my first order of business. I utilized Trello to manage and track these objectives, focusing on becoming a key leader in digital health innovation by 2020. This detailed planning included specific metrics for success, such as establishing partnerships with at least five biotech firms and increasing our brand recognition through strategic marketing efforts by the end of our third year. Such precise goal-setting ensured that every step taken was aligned with our overarching vision, enabling us to measure progress effectively and make informed decisions.

Based on my experience, to establish a powerful personal brand, you have to hone in on your niche. Identify what sets you apart and lean into it. Share your insights and experiences that showcase your unique perspective. Consistency is key—regularly contribute to conversations and content in your field. This not only demonstrates expertise but also builds trust with your audience

Making sure who you want them to remember you is also important. You can't go to a shopping mall and expect a Tech company founder to meet and get to know you. Finding is niche is who, where and how you want people to remember you.

Identifying Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP): Your niche is the area where you can establish yourself as an expert. To find your niche, identify your strengths, passions, and market needs. Your USP is what sets you apart from others in your industry. Researching the Market: Conduct thorough research to understand the current trends, challenges, and gaps in your industry. This research will help you identify opportunities where you can provide value. Narrowing Down: Once you have a broad idea of your niche, narrow it down to a specific area where you can shine. For example, instead of branding yourself as a general 'marketing expert,' you might focus on 'content marketing for tech startups.'

Identifying our niche was crucial in carving out a distinct space within the crowded innovation landscape. In 2018, after analyzing trends on Google Trends and studying engagement metrics on LinkedIn, I realized that integrating digital technologies with biotechnology in healthcare could significantly advance patient care, a niche that matched my expertise and passion. This realization guided our accelerator to focus on startups that develop tech-driven diagnostic tools, aligning with the global push towards precision medicine and making our efforts more targeted and impactful.

Creating a Flagship memory in people mindset is a plus. At a single meeting you cant expect people to remember you, so try to make sure that you create astonishing image about you in their minds; which will help them to remember with ease.

Developing Your Brand Statement: Your brand statement is a concise statement that captures who you are, what you do, and what makes you unique. It should be compelling and memorable. Creating a Visual Identity: Your visual identity includes your logo, colour scheme, typography, and overall design style. Consistency in your visual elements across all platforms reinforces your brand image. Building an Online Presence: Develop a professional website and maintain active profiles on relevant social media platforms. Your online presence is often the first impression potential clients or employers will have of you.

Crafting a compelling public image started with creating a consistent visual and communicative style across all platforms. By employing professional photographers for high-quality images and using Canva for polished, consistent content creation, I built a brand identity that mirrored our commitment to professionalism and innovation from 2017 onwards. Writing a book is a great way to establish and build your personal brand and set yourself apart. It's the ultimate business card. In this day and age, every business leader should be writing a book. Your book should speak directly to your target audience and empower them as they step forward in their lives. But writing a book isn't easy! Understand what you can contribute to the (already crowded) social media world, and then double down with content and insights. Remember, there's no right or wrong. It's a matter of engaging the crowd.
