I would argue that learning/using AI is quickly becoming a "basic" skill in cybersecurity, in addition to the information security fundamentals already mentioned. I see this broken into four parts: 1. AI for cybersecurity -- using AI for visibility, data analysis, reading docs, performing recon, generating reports, etc. 2. AI in cybersecurity -- building solutions and products (internally or commercial) by leveraging AI for analysis, automation, and reasoning. 3. AI safety/security -- understanding and protecting against the ways AI and models can be exploited and compromised by an attacker. 4. AI regulation -- a new wave of policies regulating AI is inevitable, we need to understand their meaning and impact.

Continuous learning in information security ensures career success by staying updated with evolving threats and technologies. AI-powered tools help automate tasks like threat detection, freeing up time for learning new skills. Basics are like foundations on which everything is built. I would suggest to build basics like below: 1) Basics of Networking : What is TCP/IP, What are switches, and routers? Which device works at which layer? How packet traverses all the TCP/IP layers when a message is sent from sender to receiver) What is IP addresses, CIDR, Sub Netting? 2) Basics of Application Security : What are the different types of attacks? What are OWASP's Top 10 items? What are the prevention mechanisms of these? What are the best practices? 3)Entry Level Certifications: EJPT2 , CompTIA Network+ , Security+

Understanding foundation of information security start from understanding basic threat that exist for the asset and then understanding the tool or technology to protect assets from these threat.
