Here's how you can enhance your programming skills with online courses and tutorials.

Choice depends on your requirments. You can go for a course that can teach you in detail or go for a course which will get your immediate job done. I would suggest to mix both. Keep a skill track on and keep upskilling sequentially based on your job requirements. Now if by any chance you need to learn a particular skill quickly you can skip the structured learning path and go to the skill directly and start upskilling. Later on continue with your usual track. Always choose some course which discuss the difficult yet important concepts more rather than repeating similar concepts. YouTube has many free resources which are actually better than any paid course. But paid courses are more structured and can help you achieve specific goals quick.

There is an abundance of content online, both free and paid. However, that does not mean it is worth your time. A lot of it goes over the same basic concepts in a superficial way over and over again for a specific programming language. Look for tutorials that cover concepts that apply to programming in general, and ideally demonstrate their use in several programming languages. The LinkedIn Learning Library has been by far the best resource I've come across so far due to the way they group foundational courses into Learning Paths with language specific topics that give you an overview of how those foundations apply to different languages.

Popular platforms include Coursera, Udemy, edX, and LinkedIn Learning. 2.)Course Reviews: Look at reviews and ratings from previous learners to gauge the quality and effectiveness of the course. 3.)Curriculum: Check the course syllabus to ensure it covers the topics you want to learn or improve.

Set long term goals. Use the gamification algorithm within learning platforms to motivate you daily. Follow the streaks and keep the streak intact. For platforms like YouTube or FreeCodeCamp it's self motivated and actually these courses are far better than courses available in any sight or any other platforms who charge money but you need to keep your own tracker of you want to gain benefits. Maintain a goal to finish a topic. Document that in a personal tracker and set timelines. Stick to it and learn on the go.

This is of absolute importance. Coding like sports needs practice. Majority of your tech stacks used in work will give you major practice. If you anticipate some other technology important for your line it's better to have a platform for practice for that. Competitive coding may also help but it might be difficult for working professionals to be at steady pace always as it requires diligence. I would rather suggest a balance between the two. Follow a track with an end goal. Taking an example of Data Visualization say - you may follow a track exploring various industry focused tools in this area and complete the track in platforms such as DataCamp and others. Post completion you can even to brush up as they have good gamification. Do this!

1.)Forums and Groups: Join online communities related to your course or programming in general. This includes Reddit, Stack Overflow, and course-specific forums. 2.)Collaborate: Partner with other learners for group projects or pair programming sessions. 3.)Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask questions and seek help when you encounter difficulties.

Community engagement is great way to learn any skill that is popular in the market. An active community can result in gaining a lot of insights on the particular focus group. Join communities within your organization to know more and collaborate with like minded people and teams with similar work. Outside work if you are looking to upskill in a particular skill you can join any community that suits your needs. Open source communities can serve as an altogether different experience. Use discord channels, slack, even starting from basic whatsapp, facebook and YouTube communities. It will inspire you and motivate you to learn new skills. Take help from community also contribute your part. You'll always gain more doing this.
