Here's how you can enhance your personal branding using new technology.

Building a personal brand helps establish credibility, showcase domain knowledge, and build trust. With social platforms connecting us to millions, it’s impractical to meet everyone in person. Therefore, creating consistent content is key to building a brand. Rather than just selling products or services, share genuine learnings and treat it as a public diary, documenting your journey. This approach fosters a more authentic connection with your audience.

Your online presence can speak for you. I interviewed for a sales assistant position and we were hesitant about the candidate's ability to embrace the company's values: talent and technology. But when we visited her tik tok page, we could see that she was a motivated person who promoted her company's products with a smile while answering her followers' questions. This made us certain that she was the right person for the job :)

Your online presence is as important as your CV. Most schools will search your social media pages before they offer you a position. What do you post online and how consistent are you? so, it is not every party that you went to that you must post on your social media page. You must be careful of your political proclamations and vehemence on social media. Use your social media handles to advertise your brand and website.

Enhancing personal branding through social media involves consistent, authentic engagement. Share professional achievements, insights, and industry-related content to showcase expertise. For example, write tweets about industry trends or LinkedIn posts highlighting project successes. Engage with peers and influencers by commenting thoughtfully and participating in relevant discussions. By curating a consistent and professional online presence, you can effectively build and strengthen your personal brand across social media platforms.

Having a personal brand is crucial as it lives on forever; you can move on from businesses or careers, but the personal brand you build will remain consistent. When I first started building my brand, I committed to one platform (LinkedIn). It's important to figure out where your audience lives, and create content there. Don't spread yourself too thin and try to be everywhere; you'll have way more success showing up consistently on 1 platform than being inconsistent with 3. Set aside time every week to create content based on content pillars (specific to you), and time block to engage with your community daily. Figure out a posting schedule that works for you (maybe it's every Tues & Fri to start). Add value to peoples feeds.

Who are you connecting with? To make your brand to be recognized faster, well more on those that are of like-minds with you and the possible people that you can help. For instance, it will make better sense for a hair vendor to connect with more ladies than gents; or for a divorce lawyer to network not only with other lawyers, but also with married couples.

While some people feel confident in pictures, some in videos and others in reading, you must learn how to use all of these strategies because you are trying to reach different people with different preferences.

When you stop to learn, you start to die - I don't know where I learnt this from, but, you might be a force in your field today, but if you do not upgrade or up-skill, you will become a name of the past because daily, there are new thoughts creeping up.
