Feedback is great but it is heavily subjective which has its pros and cons. When I consult my c-suite, I put myself in their POV and reflect on where they are. If it's myself, I do brutal self-perception evaluation. I'd also recommend applying fundamental theories of brand strategy such as ideal and perceived brand identities before you move any further.

Reflecting honestly is at the core of authenticity. Take an unbiased view of the image that others have of you and accept it. That is, acknowledge that understanding and use it to fuel the perception you want to create about you that is true to who you are. We are all capable of bringing a better version of ourselves to the world simply due to the fact that through life we are ever-evolving. Therefore, we have to consistently shape that public perception bringing the best version of who we are and what we've learned and achieved to target audiences.

When building a personal brand you have to embrace the personal more than the brand. It's a reflection of you and your progress. It's not about flaunting success or showcasing wealth. It's the personal journey, personal values and the unique and individual stories that set you apart from everyone else. This is what makes a personal brand so valuable.

Consistency and frequency are key. We all need to see things repeatedly before an understanding really sinks in. Your value pillars are important and a highly effective way to create consistency and increase the frequency of your messaging. With pillars, you've already defined what you're talking about on a regular basis so you eliminate the work that's done trying to find a topic to cover.

With continuous evaluation comes an ability to pivot. Pivoting can feel disingenuous if we are being honest. It's almost as if someone told us that change is bad and that making public and personal adjustments signifies weakness. We are somehow dedicated to maintaining longevity in careers, relationships, and even mindsets. What good is longevity if the thing we are loyal to doesn't align with where we are going? Part of developing a strong personal brand is having clarity around your personal journey. Don't overstay in seasons and environments because you are afraid to re-evaluate. Pivot to reposition your brand, and be bold enough to level up.
