Here's how you can enhance your performance in warehouse operations based on feedback from your boss.

Receiving feedback from my boss is a moment of truth - a chance to confront my blind spots and level up my performance. I've learned to silence my inner critic and listen with a growth mindset, recognizing that constructive criticism is a gift, not a personal attack. By doing so, I've uncovered areas for improvement. I take ownership of these insights, asking probing questions and seeking clarification to ensure I'm meeting expectations. This proactive stance has not only elevated my skills but also earned me a reputation as a solutions-driven team player.

I remember the first constructive feedback I got when I first started in warehouse operations. How I took that feedback made me want to push myself to improve. I used it as an opportunity to recognize which areas I needed to improve on. Ask questions, be pro-active about finding out ways you can look to improve and follow up with your boss to track your improvement each week and continue to push yourself.

Goal setting is a proven method to improve. It helps you keep focused on what you're trying to achieve and gives you the ability to track it. Use the "SMART" goal setting method to make sure you're setting goals that can help you improve the most. Be Specific, make sure its Measurable, make sure it's Achievable, make the goal be Realistic & make sure you have a good Timeframe you want to achieve your goals by. If you're making a few picking mistakes or want to speed your pick rate up. Use where you're at as the starting point and your goal as the end point and actively check in to see how you are progressing.

Some of my best improvements in my career so far has been engaging with fellow team members. Ask as many questions as you can and listen to what they are telling you. One of the best quotes I've read was "Always listen like you don't know anything and you might just end up learning something." If you are picking at a lower pick rate than someone else, ask them what they do that makes them quicker than you are.

Bosses' feedback, evaluate 1st before acting. - Workable and benefit to operation => do it now! - Workable but outcome is fair => do it while hunting for enhancement. - Not workable => Has brainstorming with key player in team only conclude it is not workable and come out plan B to bosses. Don't blindly re-act on bosses' feedback as you will be the one take the pain if it is not working!!
