When an organisation reaches what I would call "Data Maturity Stage", then you are in a good space. Data in organisations is located in different departments with no effort to link the data together. Most of the time the data required by the client exists internally, the challenge it is fragmented, incomplete, and outdated. Part of HR data gathering could include linking data (with SQL) and 'cleaning' that data. I always propose to have the role of Data Analyst whose role is to gather data and 'clean' data. Organisations tend to expect a senior resource to 'clean' the data. That's not smart, in my view. Let the senior resource manipulate the data to gain insight rather than 'cleaning' data

In my experience, if your data doesn't communicate effectively, then it's not valuable. If you have the skills to make it communicate well, then 90% of the work is already done. Only 10% of the work involves analysing the data logically.

When you are not sure what you want from the data analysis, you will miss the mark. Data analysis could be as good as the original intent. If you analyse with no clear intent, any results will 'look good.' What about the "noise" in that analysis, reliability and validity issues? One meaningful lesson I learned early in my career is that every problem has a solution. If you can't find the solution yourself, seek out someone who can help, even if that person is less experienced. In today's digital world, even newcomers can offer valuable solutions. The key is to find someone who can identify the core of the problem, as understanding the issue is different from providing the solution. So, either become the person with the solution or find someone who has it.

Many a times we keep missing the real problem while we keep trying to solve for the symptoms.
