When you are in a room filled with others, always speak at an appropriate level where you don't sound like you're shouting in an obnoxious manner, whilst not being too quiet at the same time. De-escalation will get you further than knowledge and skill in most instances. Instead of having to backtrack and apologize or conduct damage control after you have taken part in a situation that required you to circle back and make things right, be the person who helps people to realize that five seconds of restraint is often times sufficient to change your course of action entirely, once you have time to think rationally.
