volunteering to me is something that canbe innert of learnt just as sverally other potentials we acquired. either which ways it should be from the heart. being willing to learn and unlearn is key to problem- solving especially as a leader.

people generally tend to be attracted to you mostly when they discovered your motivation for helping is not for a personal gain. it becomes easier for them to connect with you when your passion resonates with their's, and this in turn helps to grow your network easily and faster.

In my experience, you will always meet people who are different from you. Those differences come from different backgrounds, education, etc. Those differences should not get in the way for those in need. I used to volunteer as a tutor for Middle Schoolers. There was a girl who was having trouble in Math, not because she didn't know algebra but because she had to take care of her siblings while her parents worked. So I asked her teacher if they could give the assignments out earlier so she could use her tutoring time for homework. By being open, practicing compassion and empathy. We can solve the root of the problem, instead of just the symptoms. I ended up meeting her again recently and found out she was studying Nursing.

We are leaders of ourselves first before leading others. If you are a good leader to yourself, it will be evident in decisions you make and how they influence your life. This will aid you to lead others in a better direction. Planning for a team will become easier if you often plan for yourself. This is a distinguishing factor among people who received similar trainings, not just on resume, but both in real life situations too.
