How about deeply listen to people for authentic connection and understanding because you care about them and their experience? How about that? This is something you do for its own sake. Will it make you a better community organizer? Yes. Good community organizers are good at what they do because they care about the people they serve. Active listening shows care. Active listening is a great tool for truly understanding what your community needs, so that your work is actually meaningful! One of the greatest mistakes organizers make is believing that what they want for the community is what the community needs. Let people tell you what they need. Listen.

It is focused and grounded in disparity data and clear measurable outcomes that advance the well-being of those historically marginalized. In my own experience working for communities, organising communities and giving back to communities is so fullfilling! I have been into this work for the last 20 years and I fill fullfilled and also living my dream! it provides hands on experiences and t gves joy to see communities changing, impacted and getting resilient over the so many challenges they face on a daily including HIV/AIDS, climate change risks and disasters etc. Everyday my heart wakes me up to give a hand to anybody in need by offering counseling, guidance, care and any other kind of support that I cannot afford which makes the life of that person better. I give all the glory to God! Do that little gesture to someone with love and passion, it will come back to you some day

Este tipo de escuta é usado ao debater com alguém ou falar com um vendedor, por exemplo. A escuta ativa, está sob a categoria de escuta empática.

Active listening is a communication method that can be very efficient in mediation work.
