If you have screens, determine what content to integrate, which will go well with your lighting scheme and the music. The moment you have a screen it becomes a part of how you look on stage. So it’s worth spending time and effort to design the visual playback sequence. It can get complex since multiple elements are involved (lights, video playback, live video feed, etc) it might be prudent to rely on a video / lighting professional to help design this aspect of your concert.

Start by involving a sound engineer who understands your music and your work style. Regardless of the gear you have, this one decision can change your and your audience experience for the better. If you have the resources, add a monitor engineer to mix your stage sound. Involve the engineers from your rehearsal stage so that they know every nuance of your performance. Go in-ear monitoring (IEM) for everyone on stage, and your stage sound (and the front of house sound) will dramatically improve (trust me, it does!).

This is a tough question because many musicians prefer that concert attendees stay engaged with the performance and off their phones. However, I think the best way to interactivity is to meet the attendees where they are and add more QR codes and other elements that people can access on their phones. Create options for people to upload quick videos to a central hub and shout out attendees or show their videos on an interactive screen during set changes or as song transitions. Embrace the concept of a second screen at a live show and use the technology that is available now to experiment.

El contacto directo con la fuente de emisión del sonido de las orquestas, los cantantes, los instrumentistas, los actores, etc., que no necesitan ser amplificados, es una experiencia INIGUALABLE, ESPIRITUAL, TRASCENDENTE, difícilmente reproducible por la tecnología actual, aunque nos intenten convencer de lo contrario. Por ello, QUE NADIE deje de probar y disfrutar del sonido directo, no amplificado, no retocado, en las manifestaciones artísticas donde no es necesario hacerlo.

Para mí, el acceso virtual es un complemento, ya que permite llegar a un número mayor de espectadores pero en ningún caso se convierte en un sustitutivo. La experiencia de un espectáculo en directo es inigualable. Pongamos por ejemplo un gran concierto de Taylor Swift (o cualquier artista que te encante), con multitud de gente emocionada compartiendo canciones que le hacen vibrar realmente (las ondas de sonido impactan directamente), sintiendo a miles de personas cantar a tu alrededor… la emoción y la experiencia del directo es indescriptible, únicamente hay que vivirla. Por eso es realmente importante para los artistas generar esa conexión en sus conciertos en vivo, para convertirlos en algo inigualable.

Existen elementos que solo se producen con la música en directo. Lo que transmite el artista (o lo que no transmite), las energías, etc., le llegan al espectador independientemente de la calidad técnica de lo que sucede en el escenario. Así mismo, las sensaciones y el clima que se crea en el espacio no se viven con el acceso virtual. Es una herramienta para enriquecer las posibilidades de llegar a más público pero con las carencias que conlleva. Aún así, hay gente que opta por ello y es perfectamente legítimo.
