The review is a good time to share Feedback that we have collected on features delivered into prod (number of users, conversion rate...) to motivate the team who contributed to delivering this feature and to prove the value of team work ; or to adapt this US to the next sprint to provide maximum value with user satisfaction. This is why the review must be informal to benefit from this active listening. If we make it a formal presentation, we risk to lose the attention & interaction of participants. In the age of remote working, Active Listening is both harder to do and more difficult to encourage. Having a conversation in person allows you to experience not only the words and a face, but volume changes, body language and all the additional signals. It also means you can make it clear you’re actively listening with your own signals. When working remotely the best you can offer is something equivalent to eye contact, a slightly tilted head and responses which confirm you’ve heard what the person has shared.
