When coming into something entirely new, that’s when you can really grow the most as a leader. But you can’t come in hot and heavy thinking you know everything and wanting to make changes when you don’t even know the current processes, pain points, or people. The best thing you can do is sit with people and observe what they do. Ask questions. Ask what their pain points are. Ask what their ideas for improvement are. Ask them if they had a magic wand, what would they change? Doing this with a few key roles within your new organization will really help you identify themes, measure engagement, and have the team come up with their own ideas, that they are bought into, to help improve the organization.
