One thing that affects us when we 'retire' from a profession is the vacuum that we face. We are busy from morning till night or rather 24/7 thinking about designs, implementing them, thinking logistics, material, vendors and suppliers. Then suddenly there is nothing. So plan well what you will do in all that time you will have. Break the time into smaller time capsules, and after a few days, you will get the hang of it and know how to utilize your time. But don't ever let the vacuum suck you in.

Teach. You have a wealth of knowledge after years of experience. Train the newcomers, help them through their startup phase, get over their teething problems. Do some pro-bono work for old age homes, charitable trusts. Get connected with a college or an institute and advise students about the practical issues they could face in the future.
