Identify and lock in equipment lead time as that is critical to achieving any schedule also taking into consideration global political and economic conditions as these will cause significant disruption to the schedule if it is not known and monitored closely. Like it or not Politics can play a significant part in achieving your planned outcomes.

Update your schedule weekly at a minimum do not leave it for the end of the month as so many things change at the flick of a switch and if you are on top of your schedule you will be able to mitigate potential hold points, vigilance is essential.
