Here's how you can effectively manage your time during the animation process.

Time management is crucial for me, as I often struggle with perfectionism, procrastination, and underestimating the time needed to complete tasks to (my) satisfaction. In our business, time is money, so here's what I've learned: recognize and accept your shortcomings. If, like me, you struggle with time management, consider outsourcing it. For example, I never take a meeting without my producer present to avoid overpromising and underdelivering. Once a production is planned in studio, we assign time bids per sequence. For tight timelines, we allocate resources conservatively, reserving advanced techniques for higher bids. Ultimately, it's about picking your battles and accepting that some sequences are better done than perfect.

Planning is crucial for any activity or project, I personally plan ahead of time and make sure i allocate time according to the complexity of a certain task in any project as this allows me to give my best. Planning ahead of time also gives you a sense of comfort as you know in what order to complete your project and this leads to less discrepancy and a smoother work flow.

Create a plan on how you’re going to manage your projects as it can affect the outcome. Try to breakdown big task into smaller and manageable tasks. Prioritise tasks on the basis of what needs to be completed, instead of whatever there is. Take break in between your work as it will help relax. Focus on the quality instead of rushing to complete. If you’re not good with management then try taking help from the project management software or sites like trello, asana, jira etc. This way you can work more effectively. Avoid distractions and stay focused as one small distraction can affect the whole composition that you’re working for an hour or so. Set realistic deadlines and convey milestones to client or employer.

You can get asana, jira etc whichever you’re comfortable with. This way you won’t need to worry about if you’re missing something and this will help you keep track of your tasks. While working on your animation you can use plugins or pre made templates which can help you work more efficiently and will save you time. Search about the type of plugin you need and you will get tons of options to choose from and if you need pre made templates you can search on envato or mixkit etc, these sites have pretty much good templates which can help you deliver good quality content in less time.

Its so easy to get distracted nowadays, its crucial to keep yourself in the zone for optimized productivity. Having short bursts of work and rest in between helps with creative work. Tackle problems one at a time - or maybe give yourself a treat after to keep your energy high and motivated as you go through your day! PS: having a cat helps with that small breaks in between work and distraction!

Always reflect on your previous workflow and look for errors occurring in your workflow which you need to fix. When you will work on the areas which are causing you problems, it will eventually help you work more efficiently and effectively. Always try to be consistent on the animation projects that you do and never miss out the issues arising while you’re working. Work on the changes that you need to make in order to enhance your workflow and the quality of your animation. If you think that there is any stage in your workflow which is causing you delays in delivering projects or compromises quality, then change your work strategy and try to implement new techniques until it helps you overcome that hurdle.
