Anticipate every detail, every curve ball and think through how all the details come together so that your events can truly be platforms that drive multiple cross functional business outcomes. Planning can only take you so far and at the end of the day you need to anticipate chaos. Parts of the plan will fall apart. Greet that chaos as a friend. Get the right people! It's not filling the bus, it's putting the right people on the right seats. Every person must know what are his/her responsibilities, tasks and deadlines. Prepare them to proactively make last-minute decisions. Have them analyze every possible scenario. Easy to use collaboration tools like a WhatsApp chat can be of great help. Communication is key!

Delegation is key for your sanity but also is what allows events to flourish. Bring in the perspectives of a “team of rivals” who help you think beyond your own limitations. Although the importance of communication might seem overused, it remains a vital part of our lives, regardless of our location. In a professional setting, effective communication is crucial, as is understanding our own communication style and that of others to ensure clear message delivery. Some may find it debatable, but I firmly believe in the necessity of overcommunicating, particularly now that hybrid work models are prevalent in many companies. Because we don't see our colleagues every day due to remote work, I find it beneficial to hold a daily 15-minute meeting with my team to share updates or address any immediate issues.

A good leader is always a good communicator and a listener. Its not just respond to a reaction or communicate conceptualized plan. Its not just communicating the relevant part, its all about giving a 360 knowledge about the task, its impact to the overall event and its importance to the respective person without considering the scale. This will allow the team to react well to unexpected scenarios rising when conducting and event by adapting to the scenario within no time to make the event success. Moreover this will allow the team to get a good idea about the big picture about the event so everyone knows what is happening.

To-Do Lists Help! Make a to-do list and review it every day, or even every two hours if needed. When things get chaotic, it's hard to remember everything. The list will help you keep track of tasks and ensure you don't miss anything!

Regular reviews help identify potential issues early, allowing you to address them before they escalate. This could involve checking in on vendor commitments, reviewing budget usage, or assessing the effectiveness of marketing strategies.

It's crucial to stay on track and adhere to schedules when working and completing tasks. However, in a fast-paced work environment, we must be ready for changes. To stay relevant in business, adaptability and creativity are essential for taking immediate action in challenging situations. While it may be difficult for those who are typically well-organized and systematic, we can learn to embrace unpredictability. Instead of fixating on things that don't go as planned or blaming yourself, adopt a mindset of 'What can I do with the current situation?' Focus more on finding solutions rather than dwelling on the problem.

Stay flexible things don’t always go as planned, people change their minds, circumstances changes. Don’t throw tantrums when it happens instead stay composed and look for alternatives
