Quando se inicia a docência, principalmente no ensino superior, é comum termos conhecimento teórico e técnico, mas pouco ou quase nada de conhecimento pedagógico. Portanto, minha dica é: se inspire em seus professores do passado e busque, sempre, conhecer e desenvolver as diferentes metodologias para ensinar e consequentemente o aluno aprender. Diversifique suas aulas e sempre busque o feedback da turma.

Build Rapport ???? Establishing a strong rapport with your students is key to effective classroom management. Show genuine interest in their lives and understand their individual needs and backgrounds. This connection fosters trust and respect. Share stories from your educational journey to humanize yourself and make students comfortable. As a servant leader, focus on understanding your students and identifying common likes and dislikes to build rapport. Be human: don't be afraid to show up as yourself. Be humble: don't overestimate your credentials. Let them emerge from the interactions along the way. Be prepared: show since from the beginning you're organized, with plans and a road to follow. Be transparent: rules are important since from the beginning. Set expectations and what's not tolerated. Psychological safety must be on center stage. Be open: create and provoke dialogue to enhance the repertoire of each student. Be happy: remember that teaching is your passion and enjoy the journey. It's not about you, it's about the collective experience you are orchestrating.

How to handle a classroom as a new teacher?? Come down to the level of learners first. Avoid flaunting degrees and qualifications and rather connect with them by emphasising their expectations. Celebrate the individuality of every learner leading to positive relationship among teacher and students. Students love the subject if they love the teacher. Creating a fun-filled and engaging sessions is an icing on the cake besides planning and preparation. Use proactive strategies in classroom management. Maintain classroom etiquette and know how to promptly handle disruptive students. Do not forget to seek feedback and improvise .

Be Specific: Use specific language when outlining rules and procedures. For example, instead of saying “be respectful,” specify actions like “raise your hand before speaking.” Build Relationships: Get to know your students and build rapport. Show interest in their lives and respect their individual needs and backgrounds. Encourage Participation: Foster a classroom culture where students feel comfortable participating. Use positive reinforcement to reward effort and participation.

Teaching is having fun ! I have animated a session about building APIs with django Rest. The topic was a bit scary for my student, but making my slides fun make them engaged. We laughed, we were sincere and genuine in our interactions. But letting them know that we are doing it together and that the success of the class was depending on the collective effort, the class was smooth and very interactive.

In order to achieve the goal you need to set the goal in your class.Create high and realistic expectations that are SMART.It should be measurable and time bounded.

Agreed with being consistent. However, identify improvable patterns early in the semester or at least until the middle of the semester and try to work towards better patterns. Overall, stay on course, students like a classroom, in which expectations are clear and met. Therefore you need to communicate well, especially at the beginning of the semester! Some teachers tend to paint expectations differently at the beginning of the semester, and then they teach it also differently during the semester. Respect your students by being consistent.

I advise my teachers to establish their class expectations first, then rules (broad-based thoughts to more refined). Once you have your class expectations set, then you can think about the main rules you want in your classroom. For the beginning of the school year, I advise teachers to pick up to 3 rules they want for their classroom. These rules should clarify your expectations and can be for the entire class time or during specific activities / times of the daily routine. Rules should be: Specific Observable Measurable Clarifies behaviors Provides predictability Reinforces the classroom's expectations Provides a safe & supportive learning environment I have teachers complete this activity during our BoY PD days.

It’s important also to have a flexible personality so if any unexpected situation happened you wouldn’t panic, as students gonna feel it, and it’s always better to have a plan B

Preparing for a class is not easy task for a teacher.Planning involves setting goals in the class. This is clear route for effective teaching .Not only planning the concept is more important,flexible teaching also produces good outcomes.

For any kind of knowledge transfer, it is essential to first observe the student's expectations and behavioral patterns during the preliminary stages. Once you understand these, you can implement strategies to help students concentrate on the lesson. Infuse your subject with enthusiasm and energy to keep their attention sharp. If your sessions are interesting and innovative, incorporating techniques that actively engage students, you can ensure that no child gets distracted.Additionally, ask questions randomly, directing them at one student while looking at another. This method keeps students on their toes and maintains a level of concentration and accountability.

Although they are students, they still deserve self-respect, trust, and love. When you show these qualities transparently to the whole class, it creates a positive vibe that spreads to all the children. They won't let you down because they value your trust and expectations when shown consistently. Even a small change in your behavior will be noticed by them, and they will likely respond by maintaining silence and dignity to uphold the classroom's positive atmosphere. They will also strive to meet your expectations through their hard work. Trust them and clearly brief your expectations in the first meeting.

Try to improve your teaching environment. Be well prepared for your lessons, ensure a good classroom which is bright and big enough, temperature should be good. Have good slides, be on time, and communicate well. Create interaction in the classroom, use group work, and be friendly with some authority. Be rested, and well hydrated, and warm up your speaking. If you adhere to the rules of good mastery of your profession you can avoid conflict situations with students. If challenges still arise, find constructive solutions and communicate the issues with your faculty to find adequate solutions.

Journaling is key! The simple idea behind this is that life becomes very complicated very fast. Imagine crises joining your life, what will certainly happen, and then it becomes even faster and harder. By journaling you can have confidence and clarity, by writing down your thoughts and bringing "order" into the "complicated" issues". I have multiple journals, and you can have a teaching journal and observe and reflect on your journey. It helps to bring consistency to your profession.

Reflect often to set your goal and rework on your outcomes.This can be done as soon you enter the classroom.But make sure you give constructive feedback to the learners.
