Knowing your audience is very important as you don't want your content to be a hit or a miss! Knowing the cultural, spiritual, geo-political backgrounds can help in tailoring your content for the right people. This also makes you more empathetic also and helps you filter out irrelevant contexts or contents. Using local salutations can help in creating a 'hook'! However in general, use of simple and easy to understand glossary is of utmost importance to cater to a wide audience.

While your relationship with writing might be personal and intimate, when you're writing for someone or to covey something, it helps to know the audience. Who you're writing for does decide a lot of things for you as a writer.

1. Anticipate the questions and concerns they might raise after reading your message. Address these proactively to pre-empt any misunderstandings or objections. 2. Think about the emotional context in which your message will be received. Are they likely to be excited, worried, skeptical, or indifferent? Adjust your tone and messaging to match their emotional state, showing empathy and understanding. 3. Highlight the aspects of your message that are most relevant and beneficial to your readers. What value does your message offer them? How does it address their needs or interests? Make these points clear and prominent.

Define your purpose upfront. Are you informing, persuading, or entertaining? Be crystal clear. For Example: In a persuasive email, your objective might be to convince stakeholders to adopt a new process.

Before you begin to write, ask yourself: What do I want the reader to take away from my work? Do they want to feel inspired? Or do they want to feel educated? If your goal is entertainment then that's as valid as anything else. Have your objective clear.

Start with the end in mind. Know what your objective is, CTA is, and then write backwards. This will help you streamline your writing and make it coherent.

I see what you mean by that but creativity works better in 'some' restrictions. If you restrict yourself to stick to a structure, then there will be a nice flow to your message and you will be able to convey things better.

If you're journaling for personal use, there's no need to follow to specific formats or worry about language and tone. During journaling, you simply express your feelings and thoughts on paper for yourself. But if you want to share your thoughts or message to broader audience, it's important to organize your writing with a clear introduction, body and conclusion. Try to use real life examples & proper formatting in your writing. Content that is messy and unfinished doesn't work well and doesn't convince people.

Writing in the active voice just makes it that much easier to read. Use passive voice sparingly - only when you want to hide who the doer of the sentence is. For instance, in an active voice we'd say - "She made a delicious cake using oat milk." In passive voice we could say - "This delicious cake was made using oat milk" Here the doer is hidden on purpose.
