Start by clearly defining what User Experience (UX) encompasses in the context of your project. Explain that UX is more than just aesthetics; it's about creating products that are usable, useful, and enjoyable. This sets the stage for your audience to understand that your design decisions are based on enhancing the overall experience for the user.

Develop personas that represent the typical or target users of your product. These personas should be based on user research and include demographic details, behaviors, goals, and motivations. Personas help your audience understand who the users are and what they need, making the subsequent parts of your story more relatable.

I am both an architect (of the built-environment) and a software developer. I tend to look at user journeys in software on similar lines as when I design real world architecture. We architects are taught to recognize the multiplicity of users out there. Each with his/her own ways of interpreting signals from the environment. Certain aspects have to be emphasized visually (or with other senses) just to highlight their importance. When I think of a solution to an IT problem, I often start by writing the user-guide I am trying to visualize for the solution. My minds eye do not latch onto one user stereotype but several more -- as many as i can. The SRS emerges from the guide. Both good architecture and also good software are designed thus.
