El área de sistemas operativos es una área muy interesante y lucrativa, como Instructor, Profesor, Consultor y Divulgador, recomiendo comenzar entendiendo la arquitectura de los sistemas y su relación con el sistema operativo, esto va a permitir entender que ocurre a nivel de un equipo, a recomendar y lo más importante para mi a aislar de forma adecuada cualquier cuello de botella que ocurra en un sistema. Yo personalmente recomiendo aprender Linux, ?Cómo?, Comienza por instalar y comienza a probar, ejemplo, nuestro canal de youtube ense?amos de instalación y uso: @cacaoenbyt3s ;D. Linux ayuda a crear lógica para todos los demás.

Nunca olvidaré un meme que decía que los Administradores de Sistemas teníamos mucho tiempo libre, jajaja, si tienes buen conocimiento en programación te ayudará mucho a simplificar tareas, recuerdo un cliente que tuvimos por muchos a?os, cuando nos contrataron tenían muchos issues con sus sistemas, podría decir que el 80% los fuimos resolviendo con tareas automatizadas (algunas otras relacionaban capacity planning), incluso el sistema para monitorización que nosotros vendemos que es Nagios, nosotros ayudamos a enlazar y crear lo que se conoce como Event Handlers, para que cuando un problema es recurrente usando scripts (nos gusta mucho shell script), estos se solucionen sin intervención humana. La automatización es un must.

Recuerdo un cliente con un issue, donde de la noche a la ma?ana el programa que manejaban, se salía y ejecutaba un crash dump, fueron escalando, hasta que nos contactaron, el core que se arrojaba no daba muchos detalles, pero el message en una línea mostraba que el equipo se quedaba por peque?a cantidad de tiempo sin memoria, uno de los ingenieros de mi equipo lo resolvió incrementando un poco la swap, para llegar a esa conclusión, su trabajo fue aislar capa por capa a nivel de sistema. Así que conocer la Arquitectura de un sistema es muy útil desde mi punto de vista.

Hace muchos a?os tuve el placer de que me entrenarán en redes, un cliente tenía un issue con un servidor, todo funcionaba bien en el servidor, pero cuando pasaba a otro equipo se demoraba el paso de información unos milisegundos, eso pasaba por el cambio de un switch, lo que me ayudó a detectar en aquel entonces fue analizar y conocer herramientas relacionadas con redes. No me considero experto en área de redes, pero estoy seguro que es un skill muy importante.
