Assessing the experience of your team, plus other talents that sometimes are not related to filming, will help you determine if someone could fulfill a role even if they do not have enough experience; sometimes, what they are great at outside the filming industry can come in handy.

Clear roles & expectations should be established, & regular check-ins maintained to monitor progress. Providing necessary resources and support is crucial, as is flexibility to reassign tasks as needed. And lastly, fostering open communication & evaluating the process post-production.

From my point of view, when defining a role in your film, it is all about what you need them to accomplish, so please be straightforward in communicating what you expect from them and when.
