One thing that one should not shy away from is trying something, no matter the outcome. Everything you do, you either succeed or you learn. There is no such thing as failure. Everytime we try to do something, we learn something or the other, so no matter how many times you fail, just keep doing what is right regardless of what other people say.

View failure as an opportunity to learn. Focus on what you can learn from the experience keep your long-term goals in mind when faced with failure.

This is particularly effective in our industry. Sometimes, stepping away from CAD models and onto the shop floor can spark new ideas. I've solved complex tooling issues simply by observing technicians work and getting their hands-on perspective.

A change of scenery allows you to learn from people with different experiences, enabling you to face challenges from a new perspective, free from previous limitations.

I begin with Understand what I am requested to do. Then Ready, Fire, Reconsider, Discuss, Fracture / Disassemble, Re-Assemble, Aim and repeat. Almost no one gets it perfectly correct from a clean sheet requirement. I considering the first 3 to 5 solution ideas and then discuss them with several creative peers and designers that have, at least some idea (not necessarily experts - who do not always think out of the box) of the arena. Repeating the steps above help focus and refining of concepts. Often the initial concept is incomplete. Always be willing to share credit and give thanks which promotes and improves a creative and thought-filled environment BUT DO NOT GET ANALYSIS PARALYSIS.

Collaboration is about bringing out the best in each person to achieve a common goal. Share your expertise in others' projects and consider the ideas and opinions of professionals in your field.

When people work together, they can share their expertise, learn from each other's strengths and weaknesses, and approach problems from multiple angles. Collaboration enables teams to make more informed decisions by considering multiple perspectives and insights.

We've all been on different journeys, so when you hit the brick wall on a design, project or process, the best advice I can give is to involve others maybe their journey has past through here before and they have already established a method, process or solution to this problem. That's why you should know your colleagues past work experience, it helps you identify who's most likely to know about this issue. In our fast-paced environment, it's easy to get caught up in day-to-day problem-solving. I've found that scheduling regular reflection time, perhaps at the end of each project phase, helps identify patterns in challenges we face and often leads to systemic improvements.

In aerospace manufacturing, I'd add "Prioritize Safety and Compliance" as a crucial point. Creative solutions must always align with stringent industry regulations. This constraint, while challenging, often pushes us to think even more innovatively within established parameters.
