Here's how you can choose the key factors for a motivational speaking continuing education program.

It is far easier to share a motivational topic when you are passionate about the topic. However, most people have to speak on topics they do not necessarily feel passionately about (that is, they give speeches on business topics at their work place--this is probably the most common type of speaking). Creating the content to be unique, colorful, and practical will be far more effective and engaging for the listener. It is not always about what you want to say, but about what you want the listener to hear!

I believe that content quality is good to have. I have been told all the time that I had great content in my sermons. Now, content quality when it comes to the technological society is the try approach to seek out. Technology is constantly altering the world especially in our jobs. It is to be informed with the latest job content, because you don’t to spend your entire education career in a university that is applicable for the job market. This would be waste of proper resources. Notwithstanding, this may sound contradictory, but I believe in maintaining both world at the same time. Technology can be fickle at times and you need something to fall back on. But at the same time the new content quality is necessary for the time.

If you're not passionate about what you teach your students will pick up on it and in turn show little interest. Enthusiasm for the subject you teach is infectious and encouraging. From past experience as a student I found myself more interested in subjects where the lecturer had passion for their subject.

Quality content is a blend of relevance, credibility, and clarity. By understanding our point of view and remaining open to new ideas, we can enrich our knowledge and experiences. Listening to understand rather than to reply fosters deeper connections and more meaningful dialogues, ultimately enhancing the quality of the content we create and consume. Let's embrace the learning journey with an open mind and a willingness to grow. After all, the best content not only informs but also transforms us.

First and foremost the speaker needs to be enthusiastic and able to reach the majority of the audience. The speaker should be given a range of potential topics with the goal to motivate the audience with specific goals to address. The most motivational speakers are informed, up-to-date, enjoyable, and interesting. The audience will have fun if the speaker has fun with the topic. People remember when the talk ties to emotions, information and action. Anything less is not enjoyable or memorable. A great speaker needs few or no slides and motivates by being relatable with a clear, powerful message.

What people need isn't always the same as what they want; sometimes we see this difference and sometimes we don't. We should take care to involve the right people in defining what the motivation is for. And in my experience, people are generally more motivated when they are engaged, and they are engaged when they are enthusiastic, and they are enthusiastic when their unique abilities or gifts are seen and valued.

Motivational speaking derives from passion and experience, using your emotional intelligence, to add ideas that meet the needs of your audience. Most of all it is important you understand your audience and needs. Other colleagues have noted the mechanics of speaking which is how you deliver motivation. So I won’t repeat good advice, In addition to awareness of your personality and how best you communicate. For myself I use humor and pose more questions than answers, that is the point of a motivational speaker. To engage others to bring their voice and lived experiences. Let your audience envision this is something they can achieve thus talking the talk, but also walking the talk.

It's important to always respect the attendees' time. Make sure you are prepared and stay on topic. Rehearsing will keep you on track and keep you within the allotted time. No matter how interesting your talk may be, if it runs long it affects everyone else's schedule.

Adult learners prefer learning when there is practical application. The best speakers have experience and give many examples how to apply the learning into practice. It is the application and analysis of learning that truly motivates.

I agree with this paragraph, because every time one “practices” or lives out what has been shared, one makes that concept their own. In sharing faith and Bible stories, whether with adults, little one’s or those in-between, when they can apply them to their own lives, the ideas shared get lived out!

The real work of continuing education starts when the training ends and leaders use skills they learned to drive organizational change. Some call this dip a J curve because results initially dip below the point where you started but rise much higher once you achieve full implementation. People like motivational speakers who they know about already through their books, writings and reputation. Not surprisingly, this is why speakers reappear on similar venues. However, there is almost nothing worse than when your favorite author speaks with a terrible voice, voice tone or delivery. Speakers must have a good voice with genuine body language in addition to their gravitas to be motivational.
