If you fail to involve the workforce's tacit knowledge, you will not only miss out on a valuable learning opportunity, but you will also make it nearly impossible to successfully transform your company. Imposed and forced programs are often unsuccessful because they lack a holistic perspective. As a result, people become disillusioned and are resistant to the change. Instead, we are striving for the co-creation model, which, as the name suggests, necessitates cooperation and teamwork. When the workforce is involved in creating the solution, employee engagement increases, and accountability is built into the program.

Another really important factor in being a CSR champion is making sure that as you build stakeholder engagement and communicate your impact, you’re also building ambassadors. Who does your vision, mission and accomplishments really resonate with? Those people don’t have to be CSR professionals. But one of the ways you’ll achieve scale and buy in is by having your stories told and amplified even when you’re not in the room. As the champion, it’s your responsibility to make sure they have the talking points and insight they need to continue building your platform.
