It’s no wonder that communication skills are absolutely crucial in a program manager. Speaking personally, I have been a public speaker since school days but even then during my initial days as a project manager was left speechless many times! One mistake many managers usually make is being very verbose - short, crisp , to the point communication with quantitative (more than qualitative) data is what is appreciated. Also you may know a lot of facts but not knowing to curate the data as per the audience may cause problems. Hence it is crucial to do a lot of homework on what kind of data to present, how to present and being aware to whom we are presenting.
