This is one of the larger challenges faced by senior management. 1 in 1,000 are "creative problem solvers or CPS", while the rest will wait for someone else to suggest or dictate a solution. On the flip side, too many CPS is also disruptive, as a lot of work is based on straight forward SOPs. CPS are usually people who have a deep understanding of their jobs and the business. This allows them to think through out of the box solutions. So, if you want to be a CPS and be recognized by your supervisors as such for career advancement, do provide your solutions (holistic and not bits and pieces) which should cover all or almost all parameters which will be affected.

Keep in mind that creative solutions need to be cost effective. You’d have more chances to be promoted if you manage to come up with creative solutions with high ROI. It could be an investment right now, but should solve the issue and bring down the expenses in a long run.
