They might offer to collaborate on interviews to assist you or provide advice when you encounter obstacles. This way, you won't procrastinate on the selection process and will feel more motivated and engaged with the procedures.

Sometimes it is best take a moment to reflect, meditate and then more ideas will flow. This can be applied to all your tasks nevertheless, as a recruiter or person responsible for Human Resources your mindset (mindfullness) will show your positive impact and problem resolution skills to the maximum.

Something that has helped me throughout my recruitment career is shifting my mindset from "this is something that I have to do" into "this is something that I want to do". Procrastination can set in after one bad cold call, or one bad email response as it blocks our mindset into thinking every call/email will go the same after that. It is important to compartmentalize and stay focused on your goals. I make each set of tasks a challenge and a sort of game that I need to beat. This makes the tasks fun and also keeps my motivation up.

Obviously all of the above are functional ways to fix/help with procrastination. However, I think it is far more effective to dive into the root cause of your procrastination. For some people it is perfectionism, for some people it is certain insecurities, for some people it is something else. I think it helps to first find out what makes you procrastinate (root cause can differ as well for different things you procrastinate) and from there think about the ways to fix it (which can be all things mentioned here). Using a coach, psych or people close to you can talk with, can definitely help!

Procrastination in recruitment is bound to set in at one time or the other.Sometimes the mandates are so tough that you rather procrastinate them then to give them so much of your time. Other times it takes so long to find the right talent for the role that the mandates goes on and on and one just puts it on a back burner. it requires determination, grit and a never-saying-no attitude to get through each mandate. Everyday one has to motivate oneself and think what can you do differently, where should one look, how should one deep dive to avoid getting trapped in this cycle.

Hires and related task over anything else. This is the job after all. The more time you spend hiring sb, the more time you spend not hiring sb.
