The quicker you can accept that, the better you will be able to think and the lesser stress or uncertainty you will feel. Keeping an open mind allows you to develop more space in your mind for information and emotions, which in turn can help you make decisions that maybe are outside of the box too.

I find creative or out of box ideas very useful. It provides me with alternative insights and I usually use it for creating a positive team culture. However, the best way to implement these solutions involve constant re-evaluation of the effectiveness of the solution. Hence, implementing creative solutions in phases is the best approach. Understanding the requirement and providing alternate solution will lead to graudual implementaion and testing its applicability leading to a better practice approach.
