When you’re dealing with a flop, channel your inner mogul—own it big time! It’s like when you’re at the helm of a Trump Tower-sized project: you take charge, you learn, you come back yuge. No blame game. You fix it, you flip it, you win. It’s all about the art of the comeback!

Failure is not something to fear - it will occur often in life and the key is to learn from it -one of the best things you can do it therefore to accept any failure, small and large as quickly as you can and extract the lessons for the future and continue to build your growth mindset.

Own it and share what you learned from it. We all make mistakes. The key is not to keep making the same ones over and over again. Learning from it and sharing what you learned not only helps you turn it around, but it helps others learn too.

Reflection is what improves you; it is an examination of what you should have done and what you should do going forward. That is what matters.

It is important to recognize in the moment when failure comes that you don't have a time machine to go back into the past to "fix" the failure. The only reality to navigate is the next 30-60 seconds. Am I safe? Is a good first question. Failure often creates fear; fight or flight. We react to failure when we are in this fear. Being able to create space for ourselves to respond to failure when it's time to is a crucial skill to build. Right action. Right time. Failure can provide great clarity of the right action to take - but often we react quickly and the timing is off. Reflecting and creating space allows for the opportunity to come again for the right action to be taken.

Learn as much as one can so challenges are not repeated. Retrospect on this with the Team, mitigate risk, identify the action item and track to resolution. Not repeating challenges will increase team morale and increase confidence and trust.

In my opinion, here is something that I generally do: 1) Acknowledge: Knowing that you fear something is half the battle won. 2) Accept : Accept that this fear is making you nervous. 3) Ask a question - WHY? : Most of the time, we know the reason why we fear the fear. 4) WHY will you give - HOW? : Once you know why, then you have only 2 ways to work with your fears: a) I know the solution to overcome them, so let me get into action. b) I best avoid it as I am not ready to face it yet. 5) Your choices will help you overcome your fears. MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE. REMEMBER: There is always support available, all you have to do is ask.

So that you are not having embarrassing initial reactions out loud - deal with it privately to begin with and (as quickly as possible) work through your stages of anger, denial, bargaining - whatever - untill you have accepted what has happened and you are ready to live and learn.
