As an educator, you always should reflect on your lessons after the delivery, in order for a better performance of the students. Feedback sessions with peers, mentors and even with students can be helpful in reflecting yourself in the profession.

Obtaining real and constructive feedback from our colleagues is not always easy. The fear they may have of offending us or being misunderstood can hinder sincerity. Therefore, I prefer to create some personal OKRs in the projects I am working on to understand the impact of my actions. Moreover, by doing this, you will be building a solid data foundation on the quality of your work to present to your clients.

Seek feedback from stakeholders such as students, educators, administrators, and colleagues. Their insights can provide valuable perspectives on your impact and areas for improvement.

How to give feedback is a big challenge for students and my colleagues. The most common responses are positive descriptive adjectives. Typically, feedback consists of an introduction, 2-3 positive sentences, and 1-2 sentences on what can be improved. For me, this feedback is unhelpful. Yes, it’s very polite, but it doesn’t suggest any alternative solutions. So I suggested criteria for feedback to my students and colleagues, depending on the subject and the goals I want to achieve. This way, I receive brief and concrete proposals. Sometimes it is very emotional, but I understand it is only about our professional interests.

Feedback is essential for effective educational technology integration. Engaging with colleagues and educators reveals practical strategies and challenges, while students' feedback provides firsthand insights into their learning experiences. I’d like to give a perspective from a corporate perspective. Innovating for innovation’s sake (which if I’m honest characterised a lot of my early career) does not bring any value in of itself to a business. What matters is helping to support the business meet its goals. We decided to meet every Wednesday to discuss important themes for us. Usually, during the week, we collect questions for discussion. My colleagues write the questions on the bulletin board in the staff room. We then decide their priority and how we can solve them. The solutions are sorted and added to our common files.
