For example, your objectives might include achieving a specific efficiency rate for the technology, securing patents, and ultimately reducing carbon emissions by a certain percentage. By setting these particular, measurable goals at the outset, you create a clear benchmark. This makes it possible to track your progress and evaluate the success of your project over time.

To assess your research impact effectively, begin by clearly defining your goals. Identify the intended outcomes of your R&D project, which could include technological advancements, intellectual property generation, societal benefits, or industry disruption. In my experience leading the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics, the SABRE Alliance and the Neuroimmunopharmacology Lab, I've found that goals should align with our broader vision of advancing research capabilities. The setting of goals is dependent on the TRL level. The closer to market the more defined the goal. But over definition at all stages should be avoided or doors are closed and thinking is restrained and restricted and this is the road to incrementalism and to constrained thinking. Yes, publications and patents are important indicators, but their quality and relevance are paramount. Analysis is a good idea to gauge the audience who are interacting with the author via reading the article..The article has been researched with reference to several sources. Like a jigsaw Puzzle it can conveniently give a learning experience for the reader but the author can analyze through the reader's mindset by presenting a few critical thinking questions at the end of each article.
