The process is vital yet simple. live breath and eat the research for the REAL users. They are the "Star of the Show". Business does drive the initiative but it is users who are going to fuel this wagon. Never undermine them.

Three things that I also recommend: 1. Include data not only from your own product/service user reviews (e.g. listed in online shops and articles), but also from 'somehow related' other products and services, to discover common needs, wishes, success factors, fears and pain points. 2. Always try to ask/consider "why" users mention/do certain things, without jumping to conclusions, to discover the often surpising true things to solve/include/avoid. 3. Quantify data from qualitative research ("All of the 5 respondents mentioned ...", "80% of reviewers mentioned on [...] that ..."). Use this data in visual charts to clarify the current state, needed changes, and planned/achieved improvements for stakeholders.

Few ways to quantify qualitative data without numbers to drive business impact: - Mention of the triangulation of methods that results in a common consensus of an insight/finding. - Proposing easy-to-validate product-driven experiments using control and test groups to the findings research has given - Secondary literature data to draw parallels with other industries and how they worked on similar problems and their solutions with success %.

After MVP - Focus on quantitative data to figure it out, wich persona have more contribute our business impact - And discover more reliable user behaviour pattern on specific scenario. by survey, AB test, Analytics

In my experience, it also helps a lot at this stage of data collection, and if there is an existing product, to thoroughly review it and quickly identify elements that can be improved at first glance because they do not meet basic usability standards, could improve accessibility, have flow issues, if there is more than one communication channel with the user, visible errors in the product, etc

Good articulation comes from clarity in the head !!! Before beginning any step of the design thinking process, have a plan ! Also, have a plan B! Be clear in your head and with your team why you're performing this research, mainly. Other points to think about are - what are you possibly trying to get out of it, how you will do it, whats the timeline, whats your budget, etc. Along with this have a clear communication with your team and have a proper documentation at every step.
