Tener claro cual es tu valor, cuales son tus fortalezas y cual es el no valor o cuales son tus oportunidades ayuda a enfocar tu dirección. Las fortalezas nos ayudan a desarrollar nuestra marca personal, junto a nuestra misión, nuestra visión y nuestros valores personal y profesionales, y con una marca personal podemos comenzar a buscar nuevos retos personales o profesionales.

For your career, it’s about recognizing the skills and experiences that make you valuable. Look at your current and past jobs to see where you’ve excelled and what achievements stand out. For example, if you’re great at leading projects and have successfully managed teams, these are valuable skills. By understanding what you do well, you can focus on job opportunities that match your strengths and avoid those that don’t help you reach your career goals.

For me the value stream is about adding value. Value is defined by the customer, who in this case is you, as it’s your career. What activities do you see as adding value? What are the work activities that give you flow and a sense of purpose? Build your value stream / career around those activities.

Looking at the principle of Ikigai, ‘Pull’ is around looking at what the world needs, and what you can be paid for as a job. These need to be considered in conjunction with the ‘push’ questions - what brings you joy? What are you good at? What gives you purpose? What aligns with your values?

Flow optimization in a career change is about looking at who you can smoothly transition or build a new career without stops and starts, effectively combining some of the other concepts of starting small, focusing only on value add tasks, and not overloading yourself. If you have lots of commitments already taking your time, this might impact how much effort you can spend on your career change, and that’s ok. Look at your longer term timeline, and consider your workload at different times over that period.

Therefore, I took care of myself during this transitional period, ensuring I was ready for the new challenges ahead.
