One thing that is always helpful but is an extra step in the process is understanding each individual’s personal goals. As a leader if you can tie the bigger into their personal goals they will have more motivation to achieve the bigger goals and stay aligned. We can’t assume that just because someone works for a company it means they will be motivated and energized purely by company goals and visions. It does make it easier if they are, but we need to treat people as individuals with their own unique reasons for showing up each day.

Para alinear las decisiones individuales con los objetivos estratégicos es clave iniciar porque conozcan, entiendan y compartan los objetivos de la empresa, de esa forma es que se podrán involucrar realmente y tomar decisiones en pro de cumplirlos. No es solo enviarlos en un correo o decirlos en una reunión, es tenerlos constantemente presenten y estar revisándolos y ajustando las actividades en función de ellos.

Regular communication is great until it isn’t. Communication can easily be overdone and can become more of a distraction than a useful tool. Making sure the communication is productive to moving forward and also not micromanaging so the team can feel that autonomy throughout the process. One effective way to navigate this is having certain check points during a project when it is time to regroup either organized by dates or percentage of completion.
