A repeating challenge to HR professionals is when Company values are not "operationalized", i.e. translated into specific behaviours. Since feedback, regardless if praise or counsel, is most effective when referencing & describing behaviours, lack of such operationalization deprives feedback from a critical support. Demonstrating behaviours aligned with corporate values makes feedback much more effective in terms of gaps identification and being actionable.

Feedback works best if you have deliberately created a growth-mindset culture of continuous improvement. Ensuring that people feel safe engaging in self-reflection, owning mistakes, and empowered to do better next time (when their growth will be celebrated) is crucial. Consider setting up regular reflection sessions for your entire team where the CEO & leadership teams model this kind of mindset.
